Letter to Students and their Families
T.B. Scott Free Library Families:
We understand parents need to make plans for the start of the upcoming school year. T.B. Scott Free Library wants you to know that you and your children are welcome here and we wish to make you aware of changes to our services and access to the library as we all deal with the COVID-19 pandemic:
- The library is open to the public with revised hours: M, TU, W, TH, 10a – 6p and F, SA 10a – 1p.
- The Library is offering an after-school study program for up to 20 youth each school day from 3:30-4:30pm. Preregistration is required for this program and these 20 openings are first come/first served. The program will start on Monday, September 27. (This practice follows closely with CDC guidelines and the library’s capacity limits related to COVID-19 in order to provide equitable accessibility to all library patrons.)
- For youth not enrolled in the library after-school study program, the library will be following the policy set forth by the Library Board that all youth aged 15 and younger must be accompanied by their parent or another responsible adult during their time at the library and may not be left unattended in the building at any time. It is our library’s belief that parents are the best protectors of their children during this difficult period.
The library continues to offer a wide variety of physical and digital resources. We also continue to offer our curbside service. We look forward to serving you this school year. If you have any questions or would like to sign up for the after-school program please contact Head of Youth Services, Andrea Bennett at 715-536-7191.
